11 states and Union Territories have achieved 100% faucet water protection in rural areas. (Representational)

New Delhi:

About 77 per cent or 14.88 crore rural households have been supplied with faucet water connections until now, in accordance with official information.

There are a complete of 19.31 crore rural households within the nation, in accordance with official information by the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Based on official information, 14,88,16,184 out of a complete of 19,31,21,778 rural households have been supplied with a faucet water connection to this point.

Eleven states and Union Territories (UT) have achieved 100 per cent protection in rural areas, the information confirmed.

A complete of 16 states and UTs have faucet water protection between 75-100 per cent and 5 states have protection of 50-75 per cent. Rajasthan and West Bengal have under 50 per cent protection, in accordance with the information.

Jal Jeevan Mission, launched in 2019, goals to offer secure and ample ingesting water by particular person family faucet connections by 2024 to all households in rural India.
