Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief Tapan Kumar Deka was on Monday given a one-year extension until June 2025, in response to a Personnel Ministry order.

The Appointments Committee of the Cupboard has permitted the extension in service of Deka because the Director, Intelligence Bureau, for a interval of 1 yr past June 30, 2024, the order mentioned.
